Print Quality Issues

It has become necessary for us to implement charges for site visits at our customer’s request.

In many cases we have found that the issue is not with quality of supplies but rather that printers are set up incorrectly and need re-setting or minor tweaks made to make them fit for continued use. We generally find that although these are issues we are able to correct on-site, operator error or tampering is to blame and there is no fault with the products we have supplied.

These can include one or more of the following more common issues:

  • Printhead set up incorrectly.
  • Label or ribbon loaded incorrectly.
  • Light sensor has been moved.
  • Label / ribbon / speed / heat settings are not set to optimum settings.
  • Machine needs cleaning or servicing.
  • Wear or damage to platen rollers or printheads.
  • Tampering with settings.

From 1st May 2024 we intend to charge customers for visits where the situation is not caused by the consumables but from printer set-up or wear.

Our charges will be as follows:

  • £80.00 + VAT Call-Out PLUS £0.45 + VAT per mile.
  • £40.00 + VAT per half hour on-site
  • £35.00 + VAT written report advising what issues we have found and what actions need to be taken to rectify them.

We work very closely with a superb printer service company which offers printer service packages that include on-site and return to base repairs either on an ad-hoc basis or through a 12 month service contract with next day cover. They also carry a large amount of spares and in many cases can fix the printer immediately. Charges for 12 month on-site contracts start from £3200.00 + VAT per year with discounts available for multiple printer requirements.

Please call if you should you have any questions – we will be delighted to discuss and arrange a bespoke solution for your short and long-term needs.
